Dogs 4 Dogs Fundraiser Wrap-up

Drum Roll Please…

Congratulations to Heidi Baughman of West Seattle – Raffle winner at “Dogs 4 Dogs” 2 night stay at Ruby Montana’s  Coral Sands Inn!

Thank you everyone that donated, attended, and volunteered to Dogs 4 Dogs. The Dogs 4 Dogs fundraiser would not have been successful without your kindness and generosity. This was our first time hosting a dog rescue fundraiser.

Thanks to you the event was a great success. We raised $3,000 for the dogs!

The bands and singers were so generous with donating their time. Each band produced a nice variety of sound – Thank you!

  • Red Hot Blues Sisters
  • Open Blue Music
  • Don Juan and the Wingmen
  • Faintly

Very special “Thank you” to Mac, the owner of Mac’s Triangle Pub and his wonderful staff for allowing us to have the entire space all day and night for Dogs 4 Dogs!

Dogs 4 Dogs could not have done it without your generous support, and donations. The willingness to help was amazing! Our  message and goals were to raise funds to support the dogs that are on death row and the little rescues and transporters that help them.

One of the hardest job and “unsung heroes” are the transporters. The ones who travel endless miles to get dogs that are on the euthanasia list and bring them to rescues to be adopted into loving families. Rarely their stories are told. The amount of work it takes to transport dogs 20- 70 at a time is challenging. Often the transporter travels alone and is solely funded out of pocket. Transporters are special dedicate people that never complain. Truly the bridge between a dog living or a dog dying in a shelter. I hold them in the highest regard.

We hope  what we were trying to express resonated and educated some folks about dog rescue. Adopt from a shelter rescue over buying a dog. For every dog bought from a breeder, a shelter dog dies. And like Bob Barker says “Spay and neuter your pets” – this will end the need for so many shelters.

Thank you!

Karleen
